HR Software Ranking DACH
The Mission
The Personalmagazin as leading independent HR magazine in the German-speaking market and WorkTech Advisory as leading HR Tech analyst and advisor have a common mission: We want to create more transparency in the HR software market. The annually updated list of the leading 25 HR software providers with the highest revenues as well as the HR software watch list are intended to contribute to this mission.
Wolfgang Witte, a former HR software entrepreneur, initiated the HR Software Ranking with his Wirtschaftsinstitut Wolfgang Witte and published it annually since 2015. During his time as an entrepreneur, he looked for benchmarks on market development; after leaving his position as managing director, he created this market transparency himself with his economic institute. WorkTech Advisory and Personalmagazin have taken over this task from him in summer 2024.
Our Methodology
As part of our research, we look at all companies that offer HR software solutions for the DACH region. These include ERP providers, specialized HR software providers and outsourcing providers. Currently, the ranking does not include job portals and other vendors that primarily generate transaction-based or advertising revenues whilst not offering HR process solutions. We obtain the information from balance sheet publications, annual reports, press reports and self-disclosures. Due to the provider structure, it is often difficult or impossible to determine HR revenue for the DACH region from publicly available documents. In these cases, we rely on self-disclosures. In some cases, we calculate our own estimations which are indicated as such in each case.

We publish the list of the HR Software Ranking annually. Companies that would like to be included in the list or believe the should be included in the watch list can contact WorkTech Advisory / Jens Bender via LinkedIn or directly at any time. We would like to thank all companies that are willing to provide information themselves and thus actively support the initiative.
Confidentiality
WorkTech Advisory (Jens Bender) carries out the HR software ranking on behalf of the editorial team of the Personalmagazin. The data collected and provided by the providers is used exclusively to create the ranking and is not passed on to third parties. They are subject to editorial confidentiality.
