Here comes the update for M&A activity in August 2026. AI continues to drive speed of change in the market - both in the relevance and valuations of transactions, but also in the speed of organic portfolio extension. Staying close to customers and their demands they are ready to pay for - especially in uncertain economic environments - remains as important as always.

August also saw some consolidation in various market segments in Europe again. My recent visit to Zukunft Personal, Germany's largest event for HR Tech vendors, also underlines the change in the market. Some of the consolidators have rebranded and also international brands sometimes acting as consolidators with investors in the background (e.g. in the employee benefits space and other areas) become more visible. However, market success of these new set-ups still has to prove.

Here is the summary for what happened in August 2026:

𝐇𝐑𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

📝 The Access Group (🇬🇧) acquired Talent Funnel (🇬🇧), an applicant tracking system purpose built for the UK hospitality sector, serving more than 100 customers. The acquisition comes at a time when hospitality operators continue to face recruitment challenges, including high employee turnover, seasonal peaks in demand and ongoing pressure to fill roles quickly while maintaining candidate quality and compliance. Recruitment technology is playing an increasingly important role in helping operators attract and retain talent. Talent Funnel will join Access Hospitality and become part of Access Evo, The Access Group's platform: https://www.theaccessgroup.com/en-gb/about/news/the-access-group-agrees-to-acquire-talent-funnel/
