💰 September 2024: European HRTech Investment Update - M&A 🚀

Last month, was a more busy month again after summer break in terms of mergers and acquisition. There were some notable European and also global #HRTech deals recorded.

𝐇𝐑𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:

📝 Bullhorn (NL) acquired KonaSearch (US), a vendor offering advanced search and match solution for staffing and executive search businesses on the Salesforce platform. With this acquisition Bullhorn plans to extend its Bullhorn for Salesforce solution a talent sourcing solution: https://www.bullhorn.com/news-and-press/press-releases/bullhorn-acquires-konasearch-to-bolster-sourcing-for-executive-search-firms-using-bullhorn-for-salesforce/

📝 Zellis (UK) acquired Benify (SW). Zellis as portfolio company of Apax funds providing HR, payroll, and benefits administration software acquired the employee benefits administration software from Vitruvian Partners. Benify will be companied with Benefex, the benefits administration and employee engagement software business of Zellis: https://www.zellis.com/resources/press-and-media/zellis-group-agrees-to-acquire-benify/

📝 Empion (DE) acquired Zalvus (DE) with both the two Berlin-based companies active in the recruitment technology space. Zalvus will continue to operate as an independent brand: https://aimgroup.com/2024/09/02/rectech-company-empion-acquires-recruitment-service-zalvus/

📝 AMBOSS (DE) acquired Novaheal GmbH (DE), a learning platform for nurses. 📝 Novakid Inc (US) acquired Lingumi (UK), an edtech startup that teaches English to kids aged 2 to 6 using an app and a range of physical products. 📝 L2L (US) acquired SwipeGuide (powered by L2L) (NL), a mobile-first frontline training and visual job aids for the manufacturing workforce. SwipeGuide enhances L2L’s training and skills management capabilities to create an end-to-end connected workforce solution: https://www.l2l.com/newsroom/l2l-acquires-swipeguide-press-release

📝 The Access Group (UK) acquired Onboarded (AU), an Australian-based technology provider of recruitment onboarding software. As part of the acquisition the Access Group also acquired Onboarded’s sister company, smartAI, a personalized conversation platform for recruiters. This furthers Access’ ambition to help recruiters globally to benefit from usable AI and Access will offer its customers the ability to streamline and speed up the onboarding process: https://www.theaccessgroup.com/en-gb/about/news/the-access-group-has-reached-an-agreement-to-acquire-candidate-onboarding-solution-onboarded/

🌎 Globally, most notable deals were two job board related deals. Randstad has reached an agreement to form a joint venture combining its job board business, Monster, with CareerBuilder, a portfolio company of Apollo (https://www.randstad.com/press/2024/monster-careerbuilder-to-combine-creating-stronger-job-board-talent-employers/). Furthermore, with the new structure of Axel Springer and KKR speculations of an IPO of The Stepstone Group are back (https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/german-media-empire-axel-springer-split-deal-with-kkr-2024-09-19/). An interesting and not as frequent one is Vangst, the cannabis' leading hiring platform acquiring GreenForce Staffing, a cannabis temporary staffing agency. 

First October deals have been communicated already - so mergers and acquisition in HRTech continue...
