🚀 August 2026 | WorkTech Funding Highlights 🌍

4. Sept.
3 Min. Lesezeit

The number of funding rounds announced in August 2026 was extremely low likely due to summer break and also with the continued challenge for companies founded several years back to raise follow-on rounds in times where scaling in the market has become even more challenging.

However, September will continue to show more activity again as it already started with another $150M round from HiBob and I am aware of several other interesting rounds to be announced this month as well.

The pattern holds: frontline workforce scheduling, AI-driven skills & recruiting intelligence, and care-economy platforms all attracting capital, with AI now the default rather than the exception. Several rounds thus again centered on the operational and frontline workforce.

Here are the details for August 2026:

⬇𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

💵 Flip (🇩🇪) raised a €25m funding round backed by existing investors Notion Capital and HV, who are expanding their stake in the software company. L-Bank - Staatsbank für Baden-Württemberg, the development bank of the state of Baden-Württemberg, is also joining as a new investor along with a consortium of business angels and institutional investors filling out the rest. The capital will fund the infrastructure required to accelerate AI adoption on the frontline: https://www.getflip.com/newsroom/press-releases/flip-raises-25-million-to-bring-ai-to-deskless-workers/

💵 neno (🇳🇱) raised a €6.6m Seed-round led by AlleyCorp with support from Motive Partners and firstminute capital, and some angels from Juni, Mollie, Deel, PayPal, Navro, Miro, Coinbase & Hugging Face to build AI-native financial services for Europe's SMEs. The market hypothesis: More than half of Europe's 26 million SMEs are stuck in the broken middle, outsourcing accounting, payroll, and tax to a professional services industry worth roughly €200 billion a year concentrated among businesses with 10 to 100 employees: https://www.neno.co/resources/content/blog/neno-raises-%E2%82%AC6.6-million-to-build-ai-native-financial-services-for-europe-s-smes

💵 Palette (🇩🇰) raised a €3M pre-seed led by Ugly Duckling Ventures, with participation from Emblem, Acadian Ventures, and several angel investors to build the OS for AI-native teams. AI models and tools will keep changing. Your company context should stay in a place you control. That includes what your people know, the decisions you've made, and the way you work. People and agents can then use it with whichever provider you choose: https://palette.team/blog/announcing-our-pre-seed

💵 Safehire.ai (🇬🇧) raised a GBP0.5m follow-on investment from a private investor, in addition to the GBP1.05m seed investment round closed in April 2025, bringing total investment raised to GBP1.55 million. There is a growing digital risk signal visibility gap in recruitment and workforce integrity. Traditional checks do not always surface relevant digital exposure, behavioural risk, or online activity that may be material to safeguarding, workforce risk, insider risk or other high-trust access decisions: https://www.safehire.ai/blog-posts/press-release-safehire-ai-completes-ps500k-follow-on-investment-to-scale-digital-risk-screening-into-high-trust-sectors

💵 Educa360 (🇪🇸) raised a €0.3m backing of MainJobs and Fundalogy, a subsidiary of Unicaja, two key players driving innovation in the education sector. Educa360 offers an online platform that allows teachers, coordinators, and students to access a library of virtual reality content adapted to official curricula and the needs of each educational level, both in formal education and in other educational models: https://www.elmundofinanciero.com/noticia/114212/empresas/mainjobs-y-unicaja-invierten-en-educa360-para-impulsar-la-aplicacion-de-la-realidad-virtual-al-sector-educativo.html

Additional start-ups reported smaller (below €500k) or undisclosed funding including Flivro (🇬🇧). There was also a SEK24.30m post-IPO equity round by Dedicare AB (🇸🇪) and a debt financing activity announced from Human Capital Investment Group (🇬🇧).

🌎 Interesting global fundings include - this time less of a focus on US and North America:

Liner's (🇰🇷) $36.1M Series-C for its AI agents and tools that support search, research, writing, and information analysis for professional and academic workflows: https://www.vcaonline.com/news/2026082503/liner-secures-36-1-million-series-c-funding/

Flash' (🇧🇷) $29M Series-D for its comprehensive platform for employee benefits, human resources, and corporate expense management: https://www.thesaasnews.com/news/flash-raises-29m-series-d/

pay.com.au (🇦🇺) $28M Series-D for financial platform that allows paying ATO bills, rent, consultants, superannuation, equipment, and business payments.
