June fundings picked up noticeably compared to May again, headlined by Factorial's $150M Series D. Beyond that mega-round, VCs stayed active across European HRTech and WorkTech - this time with Spain and France leading the way alongside the usual UK activity.
The familiar patterns held: AI-first companies reshaping talent acquisition, payroll, learning and AI adoption itself. Several rounds again centred on the operational and frontline workforce, and a growing number are building agentic platforms that don't just support HR teams but automate the work outright.
Here are the details:
⬇𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
💵 Factorial (🇪🇸) raised an impressive $150m Series D funding round led by General Catalyst. This investment propels the valuation to $2.5B. Alongside this equity investment, General Catalyst is committing up to an additional $540m through its Customer Value Fund bringing total committed non-dilutive capital to over $700 million. A significant portion of this capital will fuel expansion in Germany as number one international growth market. Beyond Germany, Factorial will continue to accelerate growth across France, Italy, and Portugal: https://factorialhr.com/blog/factorial-raises-150m-series-d-becoming-most-valuable-ai-scale-ups-europe/
💵 Orbio AI (🇪🇸) raised a $21m Series A in a round led by Dawn Capital to help businesses manage frontline workers using AI agents. By now customers are progressing from using Orbio in pilot to fully deploying the software. The Orbio agents (Maria, Daniel, and Claire) can interview candidates, assess fit, monitor employee output, and conduct daily check-ins throughout an employee’s work lifecycle. The goal is to help businesses run their workforces autonomously: https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/14/orbio-raises-21-million-to-automate-hiring-and-onboarding-for-frontline-workers/
💵 Mendo (🇫🇷) raised €12m Series A led by Ventech and Educapital to scale its enterprise AI adoption platform across Europe. The platform provides a SaaS solution that integrates with everyday AI tools to guide employees and optimize the use of generative and agentic AI within large organizations. Mendo plans to use the capital to strengthen its analytics layer, which tracks AI usage and identifies high-ROI agent deployments. The company will also double its total headcount from 50 to 100 employees, with a focus on product, engineering, and sales teams. Finally, the funds will support an accelerated commercial rollout across major European markets: https://www.thesaasnews.com/news/mendo-raises-12m-series-a/
💵 Linc (🇫🇷) raised a €8.5m seed round backed by more than 100 business angels, a strategy to embed industry insiders directly into its cap table rather than rely on a single lead VC. Link is a payroll platform built exclusively for the 15,000 accounting and payroll firms that manage payroll on behalf of French small businesses. France’s payroll complexity is a commercial reality. The country consistently ranks first globally for payroll regulatory complexity, a product of layered employer contributions, constantly shifting tax rules, and hundreds of sector-specific collective agreements. Most small businesses can’t afford to hire payroll expertise in-house, so they outsource to specialist firms. Those firms have historically worked with software that made individual payroll calculations almost impossible to interrogate: https://www.linc.fr/cercle
💵 Sloneek (🇬🇧) raised $6m in a new funding round led primarily by Orbit Capital and Venture to Future Fund. The investment will support Sloneek’s expansion into new European markets, the development of local integrations, and the completion of its AI capabilities as it evolves into an agentic HR platform. At the core of the platform is Sloneek Intelligence, an AI-powered HR agent designed to automate routine tasks and provide HR teams with a unified view of their workforce. The platform enables organisations to manage employee data, workforce planning, talent management, and analytics within a secure environment designed for sensitive HR information: https://tech.eu/2026/06/16/sloneek-raises-6m-to-turn-hr-software-into-ai-agents/
💵 Talentir (🇦🇹) raised a €4m in seed funding led by Redstone with additional investment from Inovia Capital, Shapers, Tenity, NewSchools, NOIA Capital, BFC, Cambrena Capital, and angel investor Mark Ransford to expand its AI-powered payout infrastructure. The fintech infrastructure simplifies outbound payments by combining stablecoin settlement technology with AI-driven compliance and tax management. The newly raised capital will be used to grow the company's AI-driven platform, enhance its Merchant of Record payment system, and support international expansion. Talentir also plans to double its team size by the end of 2026: https://www.thesaasnews.com/news/talentir-raises-4m-seed/
💵 MONA AI (🇩🇪) raised a €3.8m seed extension. The round includes existing investors and new strategic backers, including Saarländische Investitionskreditbank AG, Saarup-Venture GmbH, Earlybird Venture Capital, Triathlon at Universität des Saarlandes, and angel investors Jonas Thielmann and Giuseppe Nardi. Founded in 2022, MONA AI builds software designed to help HR teams reduce manual recruiting tasks through AI agents and automation. The new funding will support expansion, scaling, and the development of new product solutions: https://www.startup.eu/investments/mona-ai-3-8-m-seed-06-2026
💵 Poindexter Labs (🇬🇧) raised GBP2m seed round led by Episode 1 Ventures with participation from Evertrue Capital and Octopus Ventures alongside angels. Advanced AI systems require something different: detailed expert reasoning, professional judgement, and domain-specific knowledge across fields such as mathematics, science, law, medicine, finance, and engineering. Poindexter has translated its methodology into a proprietary platform, currently in beta, that supports both its data production services and organisations developing their own AI systems. Through the platform, enterprises and government departments can access collaborative workflows designed to help subject-matter experts generate and validate training data more effectively: https://tech.eu/2026/06/02/poindexter-labs-raises-ps2m-to-improve-training-data-for-advanced-ai/
💵 Sirius Game (🇮🇹) raised €1.3m funding round led by CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti with participation from Trentino Invest, ULTRA.VC, 28DIGITAL and Add Value for its game-based learning platform across education and corporate training. The newly raised capital will be used to strengthen the company’s structure and accelerate growth across three key areas: further development of its technology, expansion within the Italian and international education systems, and growth in the corporate training segment: https://tech.eu/2026/06/15/sirius-game-closes-eur13-million-round-to-expand-game-based-learning/
💵 Rflect (🇨🇭) raised a CHF1m Seed round led by Friedrich Hoepfner through the Start Angel Network and other business angels with Edtech expertise. The plattform of Rflect is used by over 40 universities to integrate authentic human skill development into their study programmes. Today, Rflect generates one-third of its revenue internationally, with customers in Germany, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands. The company expects to reach seven-figure revenue in early 2027: https://www.startupticker.ch/en/news/fresh-money-to-scale-rflect-s-infrastructure
💵 WhyBrilliant (🇩🇪) raised a €1M Pre-Seed funding round led by pre-seed from Merantix Capital. The company is developing an AI-powered recruitment platform designed to help professionals find suitable roles through conversational AI rather than traditional job applications. The company takes a different approach to hiring by reversing the traditional application model. Instead of candidates searching and applying for jobs, WhyBrilliant uses a pair of AI agents to represent both sides of the recruitment process. One agent engages with candidates to understand their skills, experience, and career goals, while another works with employers to understand hiring requirements. Candidates are only introduced to hiring teams when a strong match is identified: https://tech.eu/2026/06/16/whybrilliant-raises-eur1m-to-scale-ai-job-matching-backed-by-merantix/
Additional start-ups reported smaller (below €1M) or undisclosed funding including The Hub (🇩🇰), Zeroramp (🇬🇧), Lumenai (🇬🇧), Touchwaves (🇳🇱), Barma (🇩🇰) and FLENCE Creative Professional Hub (🇲🇹). There was also quite some debt financing activity from vendors including Cegid (🇫🇷), Ello Group (🇬🇧), The Logistics Partnership LLP (🇬🇧) and Safer Sphere (🇬🇧).
